Slezák Passage Renovation Study

In 2019, Ing. Arch. Jindřich Škrabal of the Brno‑based architectural studio P.A.W. prepared a study for the renovation of the Slezák passage. The concept included redesigning the rear wing and connecting the passage to the neighbouring property to create a new arcade with retail spaces.

Unfortunately, the proposal did not meet the neighbouring owner's vision and will only be implemented in part. From an architectural perspective, it was a missed opportunity — yet the study revealed the true potential of the Slezák House.

The first reconstruction phase based on the study focused on transforming the former hotel corridor into a public passage. Today, it serves as the liveliest pedestrian link between the historic centre and the district beyond the Loučná River.

Renovation work began in 2021, following Škrabal's successful design. You can view the project details and its progress here.
